⌄In 2012, I made the decision to prioritize my health and began exploring different forms of physical activity. I stumbled upon ZUMBA at a nearby studio and was immediately drawn to the vibrant energy of the group. In 2015, I became certified to teach. I also have my AFAA Group Fitness Instructor certification. During my free time, I enjoy training for half marathons and taking “run-cations” to new destinations!

⌄I have been a Zumba instructor for 10 years and my passion for it started when I took classes as a student. I loved that I was having fun dancing and exercising at the same time. Getting certified to teach Zumba has been one of the best decisions of my life because I have been part of a health journey for hundreds of people through Fit Family Challenge.

⌄I am 61 years young and work for Community First Health Plans of SA, Gonzaba Senior Fitness, and the YMCA as a group fitness instructor. I have been part of Fit Family Challenge since the program started in 2010. I am very active in the senior citizen fitness community and a retired physical education teacher. Diabetes has affected my family, friends, and my former students. I feel through proper education and awareness, our San Antonio community can benefit from programs like the Fit Family Challenge.
